Brian Won grew up in Southern California. His grandmother taught him to read and write in Korean by having him copy the Bible, one page at a time.

He took the long way to picture books from there…. busboy, shoe salesman, library assistant, art director. He studied illustration at Art Center College of Design. He currently lives in Glendora, California, where he is blessed to live between two Costco warehouses less than 5 miles from him.
