This was my second book and I was stoked for another chance. Around that time I left full-time work to freelance, which meant more time with family (chaperoning preschool field trips, drop offs and pickups, that kind of thing). At that time we ate way more chicken than beef, but it was worth it.

The hard part was being present. I kept thinking about the book when I was with Charlie, and thinking about Charlie when I was making the book. Usually at his bedtime.
